KI.ECTRICTAX’S THEFT. AVELf.IXGTOX, April 23. " The work of an electrician is to some extent a work of trust, because lie is admitted to houses and trusted not to interfere with property. You betrayed your trust,” said Air ,T. H. Salmon, S. Af.. when Ralph Edward j -Miller, an electrician, pleaded guilty to stealing a pair of trousers, valued at Cl Is, and nine pairs of socks, valued at 12s od, from the AVcllington Woollen Afanufaeturing Company’s i factory. Chief-Detective Ward said: that the accused, while working at the factory, stole three pairs of socks and i assisted an apprentice to steal the re-1 maining six pairs of socks and the] trousers. He was. therefore, charged with the theft of all the articles. The Magistrate imposed a fine of £5. in default one month’s imprisonment, on the first charge and convicted and discharged the accused on the second charge, remarking that leniency was only extended because the accused had a, delicate wife and had not been previously convicted. An application for the suppression of accused’s name was refused.
