ADOINCTQN STOCK SALES, A MODERATE SALE. (By Telegraph.—Special to Guardian.) CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. Messrs H. Matson and Co. report as follows regarding their stock sale at Addington yards yesterday:— Store Sheep—A much smaller yarding. but the market especially for fives, was firmer from Is to 2s above last week. Lambs and owes showed littel, if any, difference. The sale was very irregular hut practically everything was cleared. Best lambs 14s to 15s 9d ; medium 11s to 13s flu; others to 8s; best wethers to 17s 7d; medium 14s to 15s 9d; best- 2-tooth crossbred ewes to 25s 3d : s.m. crossbred ewes 16s to 25s 6d; failing crossbred owes lls to 15s.
Store Cattle—A very small entry mostly cows and nondescript lots. No quotable lines were offering. Pigs—A small yarding of fat pigs and weaker demand. Prices were easier. Values: Choppers £3 10s to £6 12s; light falconers £3 7s 6d to £3 12s 6dw; heavy £3 los Gd to £4 ss; average 5d aad 6d. Light porkers 44s to 50s'; heavy 52s to 635; average 7d to Bd. Store Pigs—A small yarding of store pigs and the market declined in prices. Weaners were hard to quit. I rices were 7s to 14s; slips 15s to 20s ; medium 22 sto 28s 5d ; large to 425.
Beef—A smaller yarding, only 450 as compared with over 590 last week, The quality was very irregular and despite the smaller entry prices veio again easier. One or two extra good lots sold well, as also did prime medium weights. Prime steers £ll to £l4 15s; extra special to £ls 7s 6d ; medium £7 15s to £lO 10s; others to £6 2s 6d. Prime heifers £7 to £9; extia to £lO 12s Cd; others to £3 7s 6d. Prime cows £5 5s to £8; extra £9 12s Od; medium £4 to £5; others to £3. Mutton—An average yarding and again mostly ewes. The quality generally was better. The sale opened firmed than last week and continued so practically throughout the sale which closed firm. Exporters were operating freely and the market was fully up to current schedule rates. Prime wethers 26s 6d to 28s Gd ; extra to 30s: medium 20s to 265; inferior to 19s; prime ewes 17s Gd to 255; extra to 30s lOd : medium 13s to lis; freezers 11? to 15s. others to 6s.
Fat Lambs—A smaller entry but the quality was much better and there was a firmer sale for all sorts. Exporters were apparently keen and schedule prices were fully maintained.
