LATE LOCALS.

The Westland Racing Club's autumn meeting is taking place this afternoon on the Hokitika racecourse. A young man named Thomas Hills, a resident of Cobden. while skating on Thursday evening, sustained a broken leg and was conveyed to the Grey River Hospital. The Returned Soldiers Euchre Tournament will be continued next Friday, April 22nd. when 8 prizes will be given for the night's play. The aggregate for the season will also be commenced from that date. Prizes will he advertised Inter.—Advt.

The death occurred last evening at the Westland Hospital, of Miss Moira Morel, of Teremakau Settlement. The deceased was only 22 years of age. and until her recent illness was the picture of health. She was formerly on the nursing staff of the Grey River Hospital. The bereaved relatives will have the sincere sympathy of many friends in their loss.

Death has removed another of the fast diminishing hand of pioneers in the person of Air H. Kruzenga, aged

80 years, who passed away at noon on Saturday at the Reeftou Hospital. Deceased was a native of Amsterdam, and prior to coming to New Zealand and led a seafaring life Tor twenty years. The death occurred yesterday of a very old and respected AVest Coast pioneer, in the person of Air Denis Neville, of Cowpcr Street, and formerly of Kutnara. A native of Limerick, Ireland, the deceased came to tho Coast in the mid sixties. He was S-V years of .age. He was predeceased by his wife many years ago, and leaves three sons and two daughters, the latter being Ali.ss K. Neville, of Cowper St. GroymouLh, and Airs Hannah, of Kutnara, while the sons are Alessrs P. Neville (Christchurch) and AL and J. Neville (North Island).
