CONSTABLE INJURED. CHRISTCHURCH. April 19. Last evening Constable Furney Mas admitted to the Christchurch hospital suffering from a fractured ankle. The constable attempted to arrest a man in Cashel Street and was kicked heavily on the ankle. The constable is said to have called upon bystanders for aid but nobody helped him A SUICIDE. PALMERSTON X., April 19. Frank Dennis, forty-four, an insurance agent. Mas found dead this morning with his head, round which was wrapped a, sheet, in a gas oven with the gas turned on.
