[BY TELEGRAPH —PER PRESS ASSOCIATION.] ! X.z. lIUCiUV UNTON. WELLINGTON. April 10. i In its annual report the New Zealand Rugby Union .stilted the tour in Australia benefited New South Wales to the extent of £2OOO. and Victoria £2OO. 'The Maori team in Europe was an unqualified success. Reports regret the visit from the French team which has boon discussed for years past, is definitely off. There will he no visit from New South Wales this year. Unless there is a hotter response this vear than last, the Moascnr Cup Competition will be abandoned. The Committee urges thill the International Board tic pressed to send out a British team in 1929 or 1990. The Committee considers too many inter-Union matches are still being played, which interfere with club football. As a preparation for the African Tour, trial matches are suggested from August dll at Auckland. Napier. Palmerston North, Westport, Dunedin and Wellington in that order. Early next season four more to he played. Financially the Union lost CTII on the year, principally over the Australian tour, and some now recurring items, hut the .Maori Tour account was expected (o show a deficit.
