Nominations closed at noon to-day and there are 01. candidates for 21 seats. For the Mayoralty the nominations are Geo. Tlnildon ("sitting), .fas A. Wamock (deputy), T. Woodworth and FT. Schmidt. GISBORNE, April 13. C Tv Armstrong and T). AY. Coleman have lieen nominated for the Gishorne Mayoralty. The re are fifteen nominations for the Council, seven for the Harbour Board, seven for the Hospital Board and lour for the Power Board. CARTERTON, April 13. AY. Fisher was returned as Mayor unopposed. Three seats on the Council are not filled. PALMERSTON N T ., April 13. Three candidates are nominated for the Mayoralty—R, K. Edwards. A. .1. Graham and A. tv Bennett. The present Mayor. F. .1. Nathan, is not seeking re-election.. Sixteen candidates are nominated for nine seats on the Borough Council. WELLINGTON. April 13. For "Wellington City Council 32 are nominated. 15 being required. For four Harbour Board seats there are nine contestants, and for 14 Hospital Board seats there are 24 nominated. Messrs C. H. Chapman and G. A. Troup have been nominated for the "Wellington Mayoralty. HA AVER A. April 13. Mr F. A. P-.icey has been elected Mayor unopposed. D. \A ilson, the present representative, and also the chairmttn of the Board, is being opposed by J D. C. Crewe. MASTFRTON. April 13. Unusual interest was created, >at the last moment, in the nomination of local body representatives, and there will be vn election for the Mayoralty, the Borough Council, the Power Board, and for the country seats on the AAellington Harbour Board.
