Besides a plethora of City Council nominations there are 10 candidates for five seats on the Hospital Board and ten for four Harbour Board vacancies, making a total of 91. compared with the previous record of 09 in 1921.

For the first time in the history of the town, a woman has been nominated for a seat on the Borough Council. NELSON, April 13. ' There arc five nominations for three seats on the Hospital Hoard. There are no nominations for the nifiyornlty of Richmond. There are only three nominations for six seats on the Borough Council. MOTUEKA, April 13. Mayoralty: Mr I). W. Talbot (sitlinn Mayor) and Mr James A. Wal lace. There are nine nominations for sis seats on the Council. Mr I? .I*. Hudson and Mr A. K. Edwards (sitting members) are elected unopposed to the Harbour Board, and Mrs B. Mofi’att (sitting member) unopposed to the Hospital Board. WANGANUI, April 13. Mayoralty: Mr Hope Oibbons will be opposed bv Mr W. .1. Boyers in the Labour interests. There are 22 candidates for twelve council seats, eleven candidates for four seats on the Hospital Board, eight for six seats on the Harbour Board, four candidates for three seats on the River Trust, and six candidates for four seats on the Bower Board.
