ADOINCTON STOCK SALES. AX EASIER MARKET. (By Telegraph.—Special to Guardian.) CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. Messrs 11. Matson and Co. report as follows regarding their stock sale at Addington yards yesterday Store sheep—A smaller yarding, mostly travelled and left overs. Not so many North Islanders as recently. The market, except for good lambs, may he described as stagnant and all sales were difficult to make and very irregular. Best lambs 14s to 15s, medium Jls to 1.4 s fid. others • Bs. Best Romney cross 2-tooths to 24s 9d, medium 19s to 225. best s.m. owes to 18s 9d and 4 and fi-tooths to 21s 9d. medium s.m. ditto 12s to 16s, others to 7s. Not many wethers were offering. Best sorts to 18s 2d, cross bred owe lambs 13s to los fid, m.s. ditto 12s to 14s fid, others to Bs. Store cattle—A small yarding, mostly odd lots. A few small pens of steers wore offering. Best forward to £7, forward Hereford 3-yr olds to £5 Ids, 2-yr. ditto £5 los, others to £2 los. Other prices wore unchanged. Pi gs—A largo entry of fat pigs, a weaker demand and prices lower, tallies were—Choppers £3 10s to Ci 8s fid, light bnconers £2 5s to £3 IDs, heavy £3 17s fid to £1 10s. average od to fid. Light porkers los to 50s, heavy o2s to fiOs, average 7d to Bd. Store pigs—A medium entry. The market opened on a par with last week's rates. Values were, 13s to 18s fid. slips 19s to 245, medium" stores 25s to 325. large 35s to 465. Mutton—A large entry, mostly ewes and the quality was very irregular. Owing to Easter holidays interfering with slaughtering, both butchers and exporters were rather apathetic, especially on inferior stuff, consequently, except on Lest quality, the market was slightly easier and especially towards the finish, when butchers’ requirements were filled. Best wethers to 29s 7d, prime 25s fid to 28s, medium 23s fid to 255, prime ewes 18s to 22s fid, extra to 275, medium 13s fid to 17s fid. freezers 11s to 14s. others to fis fid. Beef—A smaller yarding, about 500 head as against 6GB last week. The quality generally was very indifferent. Owing to the Easter holidays and butcher's heavy buying last week, the market was decidedly easier. Prime steers, £ll 15s to £l3 10s. extra to £l4 15s, medium £8 10s to £ll, others to .£6 10s. Heifers, best £9 10s to £ll 10=, medium £7 5= to £8 15s, others to £4 ss. Best cows to £9 10s.
