Children's Courts as existing in Now Zealand were criticised by Hr Hilda Northeroft in a lecture at Auckland on .Monday evening. She said that the cases were dealt with exactly as in an ordinary court, all the formal procedure of a police court being carried out. The police were there in uniform, reporters in attendance, and the! accused children were represented by counsel. Everything fluit should nol he there was there. A children’s court should not ho like a court at all. It should ho like a lathers study at home, where a child’s mistakes wore talked over in an informal way. See the Whippets race on Tuesday.
