Following a deputation to the Al mister of Public AYorks tit Invercargill, when the Government was strongly urged to erect a modern tourist hostel at Alilford Sound, the Hon AY. Nosworth.v. Minister in Charge of the Tourist Department, has informed Sir Joseph AVard that Cabinet lias approved the construction of an up-to-date hostel as suggested, and the Public AVorks Department has been instructed to proceed with the plans and specifications as speedily as possible. The Minister adds that lie hopes the calling of tenders will not long he delayed. “1 have for a long time realised.” states Mr Nosworthy, “that an up-to-date hostel at Milford Sound is a necessity, and I am certain that when erected it will be found to he a payable proposition.’'
