The Government Publicity Office placed the usual facilities at the disposal of the visitors, and a member of the staff. Mr R. \V. Fenton, accompanied the party on the tour, which, of course. in< Ruled Roto fun. The tourists were greatly impressed with Auckland as a city, but were rather disappointed with the thermal activity at Whakarewarewe, which they said was not measurable to their own attraction at the Yellowstone National Park. The Maoris, however, served as ample compensation, and the visitors

The lakes i also appealed to the visitors, who stat"d thui any one lake o! the same size ill America would have been provided with a large hostel close at hand, l ake Louise was staled to be no more beautiful than any they had seen here, yet thousands of people visited it annually. The visitors spoke appreciatively of the general scenic effects between Auckland and Rotorua, stating that what they had seen in New Zealand caused them to regret that they had not spent more time in the Dominion, and less in Australia, lielore their departure by the Tolua for the Island-. the party were shown a film of the South Island beauty spots, which impressed them greatly. Mr Reedy indicated that the tourist potentialities of the Dominion were stub that next year he intended to bring out from his State a party of between fifty and sixty tourists, who would tarry out a fortnight’s tour, "doing" both the North and the South Islands.
