ADOiNCTON STOCK SALES. A STEADY MARKET. (By Telegraph.—Special to Guardian.) CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. Messrs H. Matson and Co. report as follows regarding their stock sale at Addington yards yesterday:— Aim ton—A similar sized yarding io last week, hut the quality in our opinion was better all round and comprised a larger proportion of wethers than lately. Ihe market opened firm at lasi week's rates and exporters were operating freely throughout, but as was the ease last week, towards (• finish, the sale eased considerably. Nevertheless prices were well up to, and in the most eases above schedule. Practically no quotable difference oil last week's prices. Prime wethers 27s to 30s 6il. extra special to 31s, medium 2 .As Gd to 2fis fid. others to 235. Prime ewes 20s to 2-ls. extra special to 2!)s 10,1. medium LAs fid to 10s fid. freezing weights 11s to 15s, others to 8s fir 1 Store sheep -Another very largo yarding again comprising mostly ship-
ped and travelled stuff. The sale was still in progress. The market, except for best local sheen was considerably easier and sales were hard to make, and a large proportion of the yarding nassod at auction. Considering the large number of sheep that
nave been nut on the market, the lasi >w weeks and shortage of feed in Canterbury, the sale must- he considered a mod one. S.AI Romney cross-eves, 17s :o 235. others to 11s, 2-tooth ditto 23s o 275. one specially good line of local
half-bred s 10s. others 26s to 31s. Lambs were firmer for best lots, making up to 18s lid, medium and inferior easier. Not many wethers were yard ed and if anything were easier than last week.
Fat lambs—A very small yarding, ineluding several lines of West Coast lambs, which as has been the case this year, although well grown, were generally plain. The market was firmer than last week and well abo schedule prices. Wo think West Const vendors would be well advised to try tbe Metropolitan market. Store Cattle—A small entry, mostly nondescript lots. One small line, of two and three year old steers made £6. but these were a pretty rough lot. No other quotable lines.
