[BT TELEGRAPH- —PER Pit ESS ASSOCIATION.] FARMERS DEMANDS. NEW PLYMOUTH. March DO. The problems facing tho farming community were discussed hv a large gathering of farmers at New Plymouth to-night, when Mr \V. J. Poison. President of tbe Farmers' Union, delivered an address concerning the many lactors militating against the prosperity of the farmers to day. Resolutions were carried:—
(1) Urging the Government to exercise ligid economy thus in enabling a reduction of taxation on the primary producers and encouraging their efforts.
(2) Urging tbe Government to proceed with legislation giving effect to the Rural Credits Commission’s recomnieudat inns so that better finance, and land values might be stabilised.
(D) Demanding some sense of security jo regard to labour, while freely conceding that tho worker is entit'ed to his reward. This resolution declared it the duly of the Government to abolish preference to unionists, and to secure tlie rights of a legitimate third party to appeal before the Arbitration Court.

Before leaving, the New Zealand cricket team was filmed by the Government Publicity Office, and the film sent to England to be released before the team arrives there.
The (ompletion of the filming of tlie Duke and Duchess of lurk's tour of New Zealand by the Government L’ublieity Office is now in siglil. It will be in six parts. J''our have already been sent to England. The complete film from the arrival in Auckland to the departure from Paterson's Inlet, will be screened in New Zealand at an early date
FARMER'S SUICIDE. El/IT 1 AM, March DO.
Thomas Henry Fever, aged -Pi, a fanner, n siding at Hunter Road, near Klthaia. was found (bad this morning outside a milking shed with bis throat cut and a razor alongside his body, lie was engaged in milking and left while a farmhand took the milk to the factory. He did mu, appear at breakfast. at the time and a search revealed the tragedy. lie owned over a hundred acres of freehold. It is alleged that he had no financial troubles, lie is survived bv a wife and a son at school.

“The decision of the Dairy Produce Cont rol Board to defer consideration of the Board's future policy, until the June meeting was fully anticipated, said A. J. John Henry Butt and William Henry Cousins, wlio were employed by Whitta ir. business were fined £73 and easts uul £•23 and casts respectively. The charges against Whitta. aged 30. were that on March 10. being the occupier of premises known as Nu 11 Royal Exchange buildings, lie kept same as a common gaming house and that on March HTh be carried on the business of liookniaking. John Henry Butt, aged of. was also charged with being the occupier ol the same premises and keeping the saint- as a common gaming house. The police were called urgently this morning to restore order at a row between rival unemployed factions in the city, which occurred at a meeting held in Victoria Square. AN OIL WELL. NEW PLYMOUTH. March 31. A local syndicate formed for the purpose of reopening the Blenheim oil well at Motnroa. also a well drilled at Vugeltown and abandoned some years ago.
