Local Bodies Drier. The gross debt of local bodies in New Zealand at 6».st. March last was £sl, 726,897, which is an increase of £6.006.103 in the year. Practically half the debt is for cities and boroughs, 19 per cent, for Harbour Boards, and 17 per cent, for Electric Power Boards. These figures are exclusive of loans from the Government. Over two-thirds of the debt, is held in. New Zealand and a quarter in the United Kingdom.
