At Montreal three producers and six actors- participating in a sex play, -cabled on February 6th., were found guilty of engaging in an obscene production. The producers were sentenced to ten days’ work-house, and fined 250 dollars each. The actors received suspended sentences. Tbe producers have paid the fines and have commenced the sentence. MEXICAN CASUALTIES. MEXICO CITY, March 28. Sixty rebels were killed and one hundred captured while thirty-four Federal soldiers were killed, in an encounter in the state of Jalisco lasi, week, according to a statement issued to-day. FILIPINOS INTERESTS. MANUAL March 2K Filipinos trained in the Insular National Guard under American instructors are now actively commanding units of the Cantonese Army in China. Several of these officers formerly held high ranking posts in the Guard. Cantonese representatives tor over a year offered attractive salaries and commissions to experienced military men. Many Filipinos accepted the offer. The Cantonese success is arousing the keenest interest in Manila. Each new manifestation of anti-for-eignism is prominently displayed m the newspapers anti a society similar to the radical wing of Knomintang is being organised, called Legionaries Del Publi’o.” It has branches throughout the Archipellngo-and headquarters at Manila.
