A party of Free State military cyclists returning to Portobdlo Barracks found the road blocked by two motor cars. The advance guard dismounted whereupon thirty masked and armed men rushed from ditches and hedges and disarmed them. A connecting file dismounted and fired on the nmbusliers who replied wounding him. 'Jho n<iin body of fifteen arrived and joined the tight. The raiders decamped in motor cars. It is believed some were wounded.
