THE FAR EAST.

[Australian & N.Z. Cable Association.] JITCO-SIjAVIA TROUBLE-FIZZLING OUT. (Received this day at 11.25 a.m.) 1 LONDON, March 22. No furtlier developments have arisen over the Itnly-Jugo-Slav trouble. It is understood that the British Ministers at Belgrade and Rome are using their influence in favour of the suggested inquiry into Italy’s charges by a corps of military attaches. Nobody lias yet moved in the direction of inviting the League’s assistance. The British view is that this will probably bo unnecessary, but Downing Street is in'no way opposed to a reference of the matter to Geneva. Well-informed circles summed up the situation to-day by declaring tbe press for once served a most useful purpose. Its wide publicity through Europe at the week-end, entirely knocked the bottom out of Mussolini’s little game and removed the danger of a rapid flare up. Tt has forced Mussolini to_realiso the danger of going too far.
