A VISIT TO QUEENSTOWN. QUEENSTOWN, March 21. The Duke arrived here, via the Kawarau Gorge, the Crown Range route being difficult owing to the snowfall. Good times were made to Queenstown, where there was the usual reception. There was a cold wind from the snowclad flanks of Ben Lomond. ' This evening there will he a sicial gathering of residents. 'To-morrow at eight the Duke proceeds by steamer to Kingston, from whence he proceeds by train to the Bluff, and thereafter there will be a farewell by the Prime Minister and Mrs Coates. The Duke hoards the Diomede to proceed to the Renown off Stewart Island. SYDNEY, March 21. The city of Sydney is filling up for the Duke and Duchess of York’s visit. Most of the. big hotels are already tiooked un to capacity. THE LAST STACK. LUMSDEN. March 22.
The Duke made an early start from Queenstown, a cold wind blowing down the lake. The surrounding mountains were beautiful with a thick covering r.f snow. At Kingston lie rejoined tlio Royal train and left for Bluff at !).■!•>. Eu route there will he a brief ceremony. An hour will he spent at Gore, an hour and a-lialf at Invercargill and a final ceremony at Bluff whore'| the Go-vernor-General and Prime Minister "ill hid H.R.IJ. farewell.
The Duke and indeed the whole Renown party an? delighted with their New Zealand experiences, the wonderful variety of scenery and the great success of the tour. AT INVERCARGILL. INVERCARGILL. March 22.
The weather conditions were unfavourable for the reception of the Duke, who arrives at two o'clock. Business places close for two hours in the afternoon. The town is gaily decorated for the occasion, the display on the Government buildings and the Town Hall being most striking. It is estimated seven thousand children will take part in a demonstration at Victoria Park where an address of welcome will be presented. The Governor-General, Hons Coates, 'Williams, and Anderson have arrived to participate in the farewell. The Renown is now off Bluff, hut owing to the rough sen. the Duke will probably proceed in the Diomede. The Southland regiment provide a guard of honour, and Eleventh Battery fire, a Royal salute of 21 guns, as the Duke leaves the harbour,
