SMYTH-PIGOTT DIES. LONDON, March 21. Smyth-Pigott has died at the Spaxton Agapemenc from influenza. He ■trill ho buried in the grounds, where the founder, Brother Prince, is interred. The inmates refuses to admit his death, as they x>rofess to believe that their “Messiah” lives forevermore. Smyth-Pigott’s two sons and daughter by Sister Ruth, who was the chief of the “Messiah’s” “soul-wives,” were at Spaxton at the time of his death, together with Sister Ruth and also Smyth-Pigott’s lawful wife. Latterly Smyth-Pigott had turned to spiritualism, his services being converted into seances. OPERATION IN A STORM. LONDON. March 20. The heroic efforts of three doctors aboard the steamship American Trade, saved the life of a seaman named Dunn and alleviated the sufferings of many other persons who were injured when a terrific sea struck the ship in midAtlantic, flinging the passengers and crew against the railings and the bulkheads. Despite the ship’s rolling and plunging, the doctors performed a hazardous two-hour operation upon Dunn, afterwards setting the limbs and binding up the injuries of the others. No fatalities resulted.
