Four byes were added to New Zealand’s score and then with the last ball of the over Ebding got Mills I.fa.w (21—1—5). Page filled the vacancy and Hansford bowled from the south end. Blunt seined 2 and a single off him. In Eheling’s second over, Blunt made two singles and Page one. Next over. Page with one to his credit, gave a hard return to Hansford, who failed to hold it. .Seven balls of Eluding's third over were scored off. Blunt reached 20 in this over. In Khding’s next over Blunt registered the first boundary of tlio morning by square cutting to the fence. Both batsmen continued to play bright cricket, Blunt especially being enterprising.
