U.S. AND CANADA. WASHINGTON. March 10. There is a strong revival of so-called reciprocity talk between Canada and Ignited States. This has occurred as the result of a speech liy Air Alnckcnzie King recently suggesting possible reciprocal tariff arrangements between the two countries in the' exchange of natural products. It is pointed out, however, that while the American Government might favour such an understanding as President daft did in 1911 it would provoke . strong opposition in Congress and probably lend to further political complications with farm blocs in hotn- House and Senate. It is further stressed that in view of the fact that Canada, defeated the project in 1911 that Canada woui'd be compelled to show stronger ' evidence of a desire for reciprocity before the matter could be advanced to any extent. L A BIG ENTERPRISE NEW YORK, March 20. The “Herald Tribune” says a gigantic port development enterprise, hacked liy British and United States capital is under way in France, to make Havre one of the largest shipping centres in the world. The project foreshadows an international trade war, British and American interests against German. Lord Klysant, the shipping magnate, is the dominating British figure involved.
