Tn the Air Estimates Air Hose moved a reduction of £IOO as a protest against the proposed airship constructlnfc Ciirdington, which in his opinion would prove an absolute catastrophe. Sir Si Hoare replying, said technical advisers stated they could anticipate airship flying Rifely from, one end of the Empire to the other, performing a very useful group of Imperial communications and defence. The amendment was defeated by 147 to 72 and the Estimates carried. Labourites cNdlenged a division on the supplementary vote of £950,000 lor the Shanghai defence force. 'lTie vote was carried by IGI to 70.
