ADDINCTON STOCK SALES. A QUIET .MARKET. (By Telegraph.—Special to Guardian.) ' CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. -Messrs U. Alatson and Co. report as follows regarding their stock sale at Addington yards yesterday:— Mutton—A smaller yarding than usual. the quality generally very indifferent and comprised mostly ewes. The market opened on .n par with last week and showed little difference throughout. Generally speaking, there was little* if any quotable difference from last week. Prime wethers 26s 6d to 30s. extra to 32s 7d; medium 24s to 265; others to 21s; prime ewes 16s 6d to 21s, extra to 23s 4d ; medium 13s to 16s; others to 10s 6d. Store Sheep—Another exceptionally heavy yarding and the sale was still in progress when this report was sent in. The largest proportion of the entry was made up of North Island and travelled ewes, although there was a bigger entry of lambs than has been the case the last few weeks. Very few wethers were yarded. The sale all round as easier and a fair pro-po'rt-ion of the . entry whs passed at auction. Lambs, we should say, were easier by Is to Is 6d, while ewes showed a drop of anything from Is Od to 3s. What few wethers were offered showed little difference. Best two-tooth North Island Romney cross ewes made up til 325; others from 26s to 28s; best 4. 6 and 8 tooths ewes 23s to 265; others down to 17s. Best forward lambs 17s to 19s sd, medium 14s to 16s 6d ; others to 9s. Best forward wethers 22s 4d. Lambs—A comparatively small yarding and the quality was not up to the usual standard. The entry comprised several West Coast consignments which as has been the case this year, although well.grown were oil the.plain side. The market, in our opinion, was firmer than last week and considering the quality, the sale must he considered a good one and prices were well up to schedule rates. Beef—'There was another fairly large yarding in this department, comprising 552 head. The quality generally was indifferent and included a large proportion of cow beef/which for the most part were old and rough. The market generally was decidedly easier except on any prime and medium quality of which there was a very small proportions. Prime steers £l2 to £l4 10s. extra to £ls 7s 6d ; medium £9 to £ll 10s: others to £6. Prime • heifers £7 to £9 ss. extra to £l3 7s 6d; medium £5 to £6 15s; others to £■!. Prime cows £6 to £8 10s, extra to £l3 12s 6d ; medium £4 10s to £5 15s ; ] others to £3 7s 6d. < Store Cattle—A small yarding and as | usual mostly nondescript and odd lots, not quotable lines offering. Fat Pigs—A large entry and fair demand. Prices were on a par with 1 late rates. Choppers £3 to £4 10s; j light baconers 67s to 725; heavy 75s ' to 82s; extra to 945: light orkers 45s r to 50s; hdivy to 565; average 7d to Sd. 4 Store Pigs—A large entry and poor demand for weaners. Medium 12s to T 17s; “best to 225; small stores 23s to 265; medium to 335; best 43s to 535; 8 sows £3 10s to £4 2s 6d, ®
