Soullilnud batting Hist made !2<> (Groves scored .'tl and Dixon 12). Rogersn took 5 for 55. Hendry I for 22 and Onynns 2 for 21. Melbourne bulled uninterestingly, making 2)7 for 9 wickets. T. Bnrwood scored 52. T. Armstrong 50. and Campbell 13. Gondsir took I for 30 and Cook 1 for 1. INVERCARGILL. March 10. Cricket was resumed at eleven on an excellent wicket. With the Melbourne score at 207 Ransford joined Hendry. Eight runs came from the first over by Cook, Hendry driving one to the boundary. Twenty runs were added in twelve minutes, then Ransford sent one back to the bowler. Gondsir, who accepted and the innings closed for 227. Hendry carried bis bat for 35. playing a delightful all round game. Goodsir bowled well, taking live wickets for -15 runs.
