[HY TELEGRAPH—PER TRESS ASSOCIATION.] BULL FIGHTING. MADRID, March 7. The opening of the bull-fight season at Plazade Toros was of exceptional interest, because armour on horses was tested for the first time in public. This ywas done by Government order. The first armour consisted of leather and rubber belting, which was placed round the animal’s belly, and also covered most of its breast, Two horses, however, were quickly killed. Tho public were shouting and laughing at the failure of the device. The third and fourth bulls similarly mauled the resiooct ivc horses, hut thoie was metal armour on the fifth horse which was fairly efficacious, though the picador was seated so high that lie was Tm*lc to lance the bull effectively. The experts said that- the bull fight must he. carried out as in the past, or it y must he abolished They declare that armoured horses are an impossible expedient.
