This refusal means that the decision of the Quenesland Full Court staying ail further proceedings in this action, stands and that this particular phase of skill and wool litigation is at an end. I ELECTORAL SYSTEM REPORT. MELBOURNE, March 4.
The report of the committee appointed by Feedrtil Parliament to investigate the Electoral System, recommends the abolition of compulsory signing of newspaper articles, and that no vehicle shall be hired on behalf of any candidate or political organisations on polling day, except- for the exclusive use of any anticipated voters.
SWIMMER’S HEART FAILS. AI'CTC[ I\ND. March 3
A drowning accident occurred in the Manukau Harbour this morning. Victor Hilbert Thatcher, aged 20 years, a single man. was drowned in shallow water before the eyes of a young lady on the beach. The deceased, who was a strong swimmer, set out to reach a rowing boat, but suddenly sank when 40 yards from the shore. The body was recovered. The deceased had recently complained of heart trouble.
