John Francis Holcombe. aged 26. who described himself :is ,:i motion picture director from Hollywood appeared before the Police Court for sentence on charges of obtaining £3O by issuing three valueless cheques. He was sentenced to one month’s imprisonment on each charge, to he concurrent and two months for breach of probation granted at Wellington last voir on false pretences charges.
