Harking hack to the proposed excursion. it is for the citizens to co-oper-ate and join in extending a cordial welcome to the visitors. "Everything possible should lie done to make the tourists welcome and pleased to he on the Const. Tt is an occasion for Cast to meet "West, and in the genial atmosphere of local hospitality let it he a meeting to remember. Tt is oil such occasions that Cass Square proves a special asset to the tour. With its shade and shelter, and its handy conveniences, it is a popular rendezvous for picnic parties. The facilities now provided for supplying the wants of picnickers are so complete that »c find West Coasters returning again and again to Hokitika. If the right hand of good fellowship is extended to the Canterbury visitors on the coming occasion in the spirit typical of the Coast and this community, the effect, we are sure will he to draw more visitors from Canterbury when the excursion is being repeated. Tt is for the people as a whole to unite in making a good impression on the present occasion, and the prestige established will he a record which will serve the town and district well in the future. It is to tie hoped therefore that the most will he made on the present occasion to give the visitors a hearty welcome and so ensure future returned visits. Hokitika has but to live up to its reputation as usual and all will bo well.
