The reading at 9 a.m. yesterday was 30.32—rising. The reading on the dial printed lielow was taken at 12 noon to-day.

UNION COMPANY’S LINE The Kaimai leaves Wellington to-day and is due at Orcymoulh to-morrow night to load timber for .Miramar and coal and timber for Wellington. The Kartigi is due at Greymouth this afternoon from Wellington and New Plymouth to load coal for Auckland. The Kaiapoi and Kamonn are not now coming to Greymouth this week owing to scarcity of coal supplies.
