SECOND DAYS’ EVENTS

AUCKLAND, Feb

Beautiful suushining weather prevails for the second day of the Royal Visit. The first function was a simple little ceremony in the Government House, where, delegations from the Cook and Samoan Islands and Tokelau groups presented a loyal address. The ceiomony was simplicity itself. r i lie delegations with the Premier and the Minister of External Affairs and other members of the Cabinet were also piesent. The spokesman delivered addresses in their respective native tongue. The Duke replied briefly. Casks of wood in native workmanship were presented from the Cook Islanders, while the Samoans present to the Thiehess was a native woven mat. Their Highnesses presented to each delegate a silver mounted walkingstick, which the recipients acknowledged with consummate grace, that comes so easily to natives of Polynesia.
