Acceptances for the first day of the Nelson Jockey Club races close on Friday next at 8 p.m. Country Pictures—Woodstock. Thursday; Knkatalii. Friday—“ The Kingdom Within” with all star caste; also serial and good comedy.—Advt. The Gala Day on Gass Square is taking place this afternoon in perfect weather. There is a good attendance i present. The annual meeting of the Hokitika Athletic and Cycling Club will he held on Friday evening at 8 o'clock at Kellers' Sample Rooms. A social evening will be tendered Miami Mrs .J. Naneekivell on Friday evening next in tbe Woodstock Hall. Admission : Gents 2s fid, ladies a plate. Dancing at 8.30 p.m.—Advt. A harvest dance wll be hold in the One Mile Hall. Arahura. on Friday 25th. February. First class floor and supper. Good music. Admission: Ladies Is or plate; gentlemen 2s.— Advt. The fine new building erected by the Hokitika Savings Bank in Hamilton Street will be utilised for business tomorrow (Thursday) afternoon, when the Bank opens lor business as usual.
