RIFLE SHOOTING.

The results of the Empire shooting in connection with the Imperial Sheilds competition for 1926, shows that nearly twenty-eight; thousand boys competed for the King’s trophy, which was won by South Africa, with an average of 79 points out of a possible of a hundred. Canada was second with 78. Australia third with 71, Britain fourth with 70.56 and New Zealand fifth with 70.3. Canada won ninety-two silver and bronze medals for individual high scores of 97 and over. Australia won 39 medals. South Africa 22, Britain 12. Inula 0, and New Zealand 3.

The senior Tmnerial Challenge Shield for the best senior school in the Empire was wn by the Australian Naval Reserve at Edgecliffe, New South AYnles. with an average of 96.4.

Lord Jellicoe’s sword, for the best small senior school in the Empire, was won by the Australian Naval Reserve at Fremantle.

The Junior Imperial Challenge Shield for the best jupnior school in the Empire was won hv the Lawrence Alilitary School for cadets at Tnnawor, India.

The King has sent a letter to the National Rifle Association, expressing much satisfaction with the result of the competition for His ATajesty’s trophy. Tie considers there are excellent scores from all parts of the Empire, which reflect the greatest credit on the boys and their instructors.
