TOWN HALL PICTURES. <‘ B LACK GOLD’ ’ - TO-NIG HT. ■ To-night the Town Hall pictures present "Black Gold ’ a fine drama. The story tolls of Don Endicott, when returning home oil the train meets with card-shnrpelrs who fleece him so well, that all he has left are his pyjamas and his evening suit. Sam the colored porter calls Endicott out and tells him that he has been cheated, and in the fight that ensues he is thrown out of the train, the porter' meeting with the same fate. Endicott dons the evening suit, and together with the porter calls at the Atwood Ranch, which is right in the heart ot the Texas Oilfields. They introduce themselves at the ranch, hut are immediately ordered off. as it is the Endicott syndicate that arc forcing the Atwoods off the ranch, so that they may get possession of the same, having in tho meantime burnt the Atwood derricks, so as to render them helpless. By persistently hanging about the ranch Don takes charge, so that- when Otis Bayer, the manager of the Endicott Syndicate tries to buy over the ranch he is ordered off. .Tot* Endicott head of the syndicate then arrives, and is furious with Bayer when ho learns that he has not yet. taken over the ranch. He sets out for the ranch himself. :sd discovers that it is his own son who is holding up negotiations, and offers him ft price for the place, which is refused. Bayer again tries to buy lb" ranch, hut is frustrated by Don. and a fight ensues, Bayer coming off second best Endicott sour, seeing that his
soil has him whipped, pays the price for the ranch. The third episode of ‘‘The Purple Riders.” a Selznick News and a rattling Comedy will also he screened.
