CYCLONE DISASTER. BRISBANE, Feb. 10.
A terrific cyclone has swept the coastal districts north of Townsville. All telegraphic communication with the stricken districts has been severed. The only means of communication is by wireless through a steamer at Cairns. The cyclone was of extraordinary velocity. Miles of telegraph ] xiles are down. Nd trains left Cairns to-day as the Tines are till blocked. Until communications are restored with the inland districts, it will he impossible to estimate the damage.

The Niagara sailed for Auckland at I p.m. Mr Ale Kell. New South AVales Minister of Justice, is a passenger.
