MUNICIPAL BAND

ANNEAL MEETING

The annual meeting of the Hokitika Municipal Band was held ill the Band Room last evening, there being a good attendance of members. Mr C. Ross was in the chair and after the minutes of the previous annual meeting had been confirmed, the secretary presented the balance sheet which showed the band to be in a very si mul financial position. The following officers were elected for the ensuing year:—Conductor. Mr C. B. Ross; Bandmaster. Mr A. E. Richards; Secretary, A. Good; Treasurer. Jus. Stapleton; Band Sergeant. A. Parkliill; Caretaker. D. McLeod; Committee. A. Parkliill. Ross. G. Rni no and officers.

Hi thanking the band for bis reelection to the position of Conductor. Mr Ross said lie was very pleased to have the honour of being in charge of such a loyal body of bandsmen. The practices throughout the year had been well attended. The band bad not bad any occasion to make an appeal to the public during the vear and it was very pleasing to know the services had been fully appreciated by the manner in which the public had responded with the Christmas donations. The plavisg had been well up to the standard and he hoped the members would endeavour to even do better this you - . The various other officers also returned thanks for re-appointment. . The matter of arranging for lighting the stand at Lloyd’s corner for future evening programmes, was left in the hands of Mr Raine to deal with. It was decided to play at the swimming carnival on Monday hfternoon 'and'llt the Gala Wednesday afternoon.

It was also decided to pay a visit to Ross at an early date. This concluded the business, and a vote of thanks to the chair concluded the meeting.
