FOR PEACE IN INDUSTRY.
"We have n Federation of British Industries. Why should not they, and the Trade Union Congress, twenty or thirty of them, get together and try to find what is h. st lor industry and the nation. J It is til years since we had a Labour Commission appointed by tiie Government. ft brought out a great volume of figures a lid facts —and fancies, also. I want the same things focussed by experts—not the experts you talk about, hut real experts, who shall say what is the host policy for the future. There are three points which 1 would lay down : c 1) Every man. woman, and child should be well clothed and housed: (12) everybody in the nation should have a chance of being happy; Li) capital should have a fair return, hut only after the needs of food and clothing and shelter have been met for the operatives. Wo want contentment. There must he a bedrock basis of food, clothing and shelter for all industrial employees in the land."—Mr Ben Turner.
