SWIMMING CARNIVAL
ANOTHER GREAT SUCCESS
The Hokitika Swimming Club were favoured with perfect conditions last night when the second night carnival was held, after lieing postponed from Tuesday. The night was calm and warm, the conditions being ideal for swimmers and onlookers alike. Iheie was another very large attendance, the seating capacity being overtaxed, and the proceedings passed off very enjoy - ably, lasting nearly three hours. The Municipal Band was present and played a programme outside the gates prior to the carnival commencing. Several trophies were competed for, donated by the following: Messrs 1). E. Dowell, R. Devauey. L. Keeeh, Mrs J .Turner and two handsome gold medals from Mr J. Ramble, of Oreymouth.
