Messrs. 11. Matson and Co. report as hallows regarding their stuck sale at .'aldington yards yesterday:Store Sheep.—A very- large yarding an:! included a big proportion of lambs, several lines being from tlio West Coast; also consignments from the North Island and Chat-hams. The very large yarding combined with the continued dry spell bad a very detrimental effort on the market. Lambs were Is to 2s ffd below the previous rates, i.wcs also were decidedly easier and what few wethers, which were mostly unattractive, were also easier. Best lambs 19s to 21s (id, medium 16s to IPs fid, others to Ms. S.M. half-bred. ewes 17s to 225, best two-tooth ditto 335, rope ewes 6s to 9s (id, best wethers to 22s Id. medium L9s to 21s.

Store Cattle.—A very small yarding, and not many quotable lots Here offered. one xijinll line of three and four year steers made £6 19s to £9 3s. young cows to £2 15s. heifers £2 lOs to £3 ss.

Fat Rigs.—There was a slightly smaller yarding and a fair demand. The prices were on a par witlli last week. The values are: Choppers £2 10s to £5, light bnconers £3 lOs to £3 15s, heavy £3 16s to £4 10s; average per lb, old to GUI; light porkers 43s to 545, heavy 56s to 04s; average per lb, 7Vd to BJd. Store Pigs.—A moderate yarding ami the demand only fair. Wennors 14s to 18s, larger sorts 20s to 25s fid. small stores 26s to 30s, large stores 32s to 38s, best to 15s. Beef.—A much smaller yarding and there was decidedly a better sale, although the quality was not too good and comprised a large proportion of cows. The prices were better by 30s per bead, especially for prime and medium sorts. Prime £l2 15s to £l3 10s, extra to £ls 15s, medium £l.l to £l2 10s, others to £9. prime heifers £8 to £lO. extra, to £ll 17s, medium £0 15s to £7 lsO, others to £6, prime cows £S to £lO ss, extra to £ll 7s, medium £5 to £7 15s. others £4 ss.

Mutton.—A large yarding mostly owes, tlie quality was generally indifferent- and tlie market, especially /for ewes, was decidedly easier. Local demand was very spasmodic and exporters were not keen. Prime wethers 2os fid to 28s fid, extra to 31s 7d. medium 2-1 s to 255, others to 21s (id, prime ewes 17s to 22s fid. extra to 245. medium 14s to 16s 6d, others to 12s 6d. Lambs.—A large yarding, including a big proportion of West Coast lam its. The quality generally was hardly up to the average and the sale, except for the best quality, was easier, although well up to schedule rates.
