(Before AY. AJeldrum Esq., S.AI.) LICENSING ACT. On a charge of being unlawfully oil licensed premises ('Three Alile Hotel) on Xmas Day, an offender was convicted and lined 40s and costs 9s. DEFENCE ACT. Robt. Hoffmann and \Y. G. Brian were charged with failure to register under the Defence Act. Fined 5s and costs ll.s 5d each. causing wilful damage. Reginald Rosewarne was charged with doing wilful damage to ail electric sign, the property of A. Willmot, of a value of 27s fid. A plea of guilty was entered. Scrgt. King stated that late on Saturday night defendant when walking along Revell Street jumped up and struck the electric sign and broke it.
Defendant denied having broken more than one glass, and the rase was adjourned to allow of evidence of damage to he brought forward at next sitting. DEBT CASES. Judgment for plaintiff by default was given in the following eases : AY. H. Shannon (Mr iKlcock) v. L. Morel, claim £49 14s and costs £4 14s fid. H. Al. (.'unison (.Mr fvlcick) v. B. Breeze, claim £2 2s and costs 23s fid. Ronton and Co. (Air Elcock) v. AY. S-hand. £lO and costs £1 18s fid. Tomlinson and Gifford (Mr Elcock) v. A. AYoolhousc. claim £3 and costs. > w - H - Siopforth (Mr Sellers) v. Geo. Freitas, claim £1 4s aiul costs Bs. Wild and Bassett (Air Elcock) v Jas Gardyne. claim £2 15s and costs £1 5s fid.
