HELL’S FOUR HUNDRED ” —TO-NIGHT.

One of the iir.st things the average actress asks when she is offered a part in motion pictures is: *• Will the character get sympathy? ” But not -Margaret Livingston, who stars in tho highly dramatic role of Kveiyn Vance in the fox Films version of “ Hell’s Four Hundred” under the direction ol John Griffith Wray, to be shown to-night at the Princess Theatre. She is not the average actress. She is far above the average. "1 have done the best work of my screen career in the adventuress type of parts,’’ said Miss Livingston recently in discussing the subject. “My pare in ‘Hell’s Four Hundred ’ is that of a flighty little person of the well-known 1 Gold Digging’ variety—to whom men are but a means to a luxurious end. The audience will no! like this girl Kveiyn Vance, but they certainly will notice her. If they do that i will he pleased.” William Fox went through the motion picture directory with a fine tooth comb to got the rigid girl to star in “ Hell’s Four Hundred.” She had to he beautiful, attractive to men and yet he able to affect a cold, ruthless personality. On top of this she had to he able to net. It was only after two dozen leading screen actresses were considered that Miss Livingston was chosen. Harrison Ford. Henry Koiker. Wallace MacDonald. .Margaret Day, Rodney Hildc- ' ml and Amber Norman form tho pai iculnrly well chosen cast supporting Mass Livingston in this intriguing story of the- socially elect of the underworld. A Topical and comedy complete tho disnlav to-night.
