FOUND DEAD
It was reported this afternoon that Air Henry Shand, cycle dealer and repairer of Revell St. was found dead in his shop about 2 o’clock, as tile result of gas poisoning, a tube with the gas turned oil being found in his mouth. Dr Rich was called in but life-was extinct.
Deceased was a son of Airs Shand of Sale Street, a returned soldier, about 35 years of age and a married man, his wife being in Christchurch. Several brothers and sisters are also left. Deceased was a member of the Committee of the Returned Soldiers’ Association and was well-known in the town and district.
