Store Cattle.—A smut! yarding and as usual mostly nondescript lots and cows. A keen demltnd throughout. Ono pen of 3 year old bullocks sold up to £9 15s; and another pen of 2 year old bullocks £5 10s; best rows £3 to £4 15s.

Beef.—A very large yarding comprising 535 bead, ihe majority of which was cow beef. The quality gouera'ly was good. The market opened easier for all classes of sales and were irregular throughout the day. steers showing a. decline of anything from Ids to 15s, cows and heifers 15s to 20s all round. Cows, prime £6 15s to £8 It’s; extra, to £9 ss; medium £5 to £5 10s; others to £3 10s. Fat Pigs.-—A heavy yarding both pork and haconers. and dragging sale. Values were on a par with last sale. Values: Choppers £3 to £5; light haconers £3 7s to £3 17s Gd ; medium to £4 8s; extra to £5 3s; average per lb Gd to GJd. Medium porkers 46s to 525. best 56s to 63s Od. average per lb 71d to Bd.

Store Pigs.—A fair yarding with good demand and advance on last sale. I Small weaners 16s to 21s, better to I 265; small stores 27s to 33s ; medium to 1 435. larger to 50s. I Mutton.—A similar yarding to last J week and the quality was very irreguI lar. Owing to the prevailing hot weather, mutton evidently was not much in demand, consequently the market somewhat easier than last week. Certainly the market opened up firm, hut as the s-ale progressed it slackened perceptabl.v and the latter portion showed a decline of quite Is to Is Gd on the opening rates. This was more apparent with owes. Though the market was easier, exporters operated only sparingly, till the latter portion of the sale and even then did not get much, prices evidently being well over the schedule. Prime wethers 27s fid to 29s fid. extra to 31s lfld : medium 25s Gd to 275; others to 23s 6d ; prime ewes 21s to 24s 6d. extra to 26s 4d ; medium 17s fid to 20s fid; others to 14s. Lambs.—A comparatively short yarding and the quality generally was irregular. Exporters operated freely and combined with competition of the local trade made tlie market solid. Several lilies of AVest Const lambs sold well, prices being well up to aiul in most a’lses over schedule rates. AVe can strongly recommend vendors who have fat lambs for realisation to try the metropolitan market. DIPPING.

The Government authorities advise ns that from now on, drastic inspection of u!l sheep and lambs in the store pens will he carried out. and they will prohibit the sale of any sheep they consider need dipping. Any sheep so condemned cannot be offered for sale until after they have been dipped. AVest Coasters would be well advised to see their sheep are cure fully dipped before consigning. _____
