LATE LOCALS.
The Linwood howlers played a second game at Grey mouth this morning when they were defeated by 11— JO and L 3— 2(i, total figures of 24 to 50. The partyarrived at Hokitika about 3 p.m. and are playing a local two-rink team. .or 11. M. Coulson, Deputy Mayor, will he leaving on Saturday week on an extended trip to the United States and Europe. -Mr Coulson will spend Some time in America before proceeding to England. .Mr Coulson will bo much missed in many ways during his absence and certainly in his public capacity in which lie has been readily available at all times to take a prominent part when required in general affairs. It is understood Mr Coulson does not intend to seek municipal honours next election, which is much to ho regretted as lie is so useful a Councillor. Berlin ps he could lie prevailed upon to leave a signed nomination paper in which event friends would only too readily assist with his candidature at polling day. It is to tie hoped M.r Coulson will be prevailed upon to allow bis nomination to go in for next April elections.
