[Australia & N.Z. Cable Association.! U.S NAVAL BILL. WASHINGTON, Jan. 17. The Senate Appropriations Committee reported the. Naval Supply Bill to the Senate, providing for appropriations for three additional battle cruisers, increased personnel for navy and additional aeroplanes, {hereby overriding the wishes of President Coolidge and Budget Bureau.
MEXICAN EIGHTS. MEXICO CITY. Jan. 17
Federal troops captured the town of Tepotilan after a, bloody light, and the death of nearly 100. In the Jalisco district, the centre of what Government calls a Catholic rebellion, 70 of the dead were rebels. They laid seige to Tepotilan, but relieving Government forces arrived and drove them off with many wounded. The Government is arming peasants in the States, where the rebels are active. The Catholic 'Episcopate denies it is responsible for the outbreaks. Demaso Bozzarn. a
prominent Catholic loader, heading the revolt in the Mesquintul district, under the banner “For God and Country” was killed in the battle.
