11l pursuance and exorcise of the powers conferred upon it by “The Counties Act, 1020,” and the amendments thereof, and of every other power in this liehalf. enabling the Westland County Council, the Council doth hereby make and ordain the By-law hereinafter set forth, such By-law to be in force throughout the County of Westland. BY-LAW NO. II of 1926. RELATING- TO WANDERING CATTLE. In this By-law, if not inconsistent with the context, the words: “Cattle” means any horse, mare, gold- | ing, rig, eolt. filly, ass, nude, hull, cow, ox, heifer, steer, calf, sheep, ram. ewe, wether, lamb, goat, kid, hoar, sow, and pig of every kind. “Owner” shall include a bailee or any one or more owners of cattle. The (inner of anv cattle found on any road within the County of Westland and under the care and control of the Westland County Council, without any person having the charge thereof, shall he guilty of a Breach of this By-law. Every person guilty of a breach of this By-law shall he liable to a penalty not exceeding ten pounds, or where the broach is a continuing one, then a penalty not exceeding five pounds for every day or part of a day during which such breach continues.
