GUNNERY TESTS
H.M.S. RENOWN
Jan. 15
' Tho ordered routine of the long voyago has settled down on the Renown. There aro daily drill divisions land inspections with general quarters periodically, according to plan. Their Highnesses have visited practicnllv every part of the ship, finishing with the mess decks. The weather is >a little more boisterous than usual though a following sea reduces the rolling, hilt the ship is pooped heavily occasionally. An interesting feature of the general quarters is the opportunity given to check, through the fire control instructions, the gun efficiency, which pressure of work in connection with the tour had prevented since the full-pali-bre concentration practice for the benefit of the Dominion Premiers, at which tho “Renown” gained one hundred per cent efficiency. The results of this check are very satisfactory. It is the intention to arrange regular routine general quarters, '.at which the check will be appi'ied periodically in order to maintain the present high efficiency reached on the Renown, since it is very unlikely that there will be much opportunity for gunnery training during tlio cruiso.
