The Wataroa Hall was filled to the door on 12th inst to receive Mr Fred Smith's Jazramba Band and a very fine

programme was given. Dancing was continued to an early hour in the morning; and the travellers were very pleased haying a very nice house. The party holies to again return at a future date as they appreciated the country life and the scenery in South Westland.

.Messrs Ikilgety and Co spent the week end at Wataroa :u compnnied by -Mr George Ferguson, of Sheffield, Canterbury. looking over and purchasing lat ami forward lambs for transit to Canterbury. They secured something over three thousand lambs at Wataroa and intend sending them to the rail head at Ross by motor lorry. The price, paid for lambs was satisfactory to the grower, the purchaser taking delivery of tin l lambs in the paddock, and some credit is due to Messrs Lhdgcty and Co's auctioneer, Mr McQueen, for
