300 MI NERS I ORE. IXVEIS CAR G 1 EL, .Tanuary The employees ol the Kaitangaca Coal Cov. (ire at present in an unenviable position, following on tlio failure to pay their wages tor the last two pays. The amount involved is approximately six thousand pounds, and the number of workers is three hundred. About two-tldrds of these workers own their own homes. The future of the mine is problematical, as owing to the danger from fires, it cannot he kept open very long, and, unless a speedy reorganisation ol the Company takes place, and wages are paid, the future looks very gloomy. It is understood that Government assistance is being sought to tide over the difficulty.
