ADDINGTON STOCK SALES

SMALL DRQP IN BEEF. (By Telegraph.—Special to Guardian.) CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. Messrs 11. Matson and Co. report as follows regarding their stock sale at Addington yards yesterday:— Store sheep—A medium yarding, mostly dry sheep and included several pens of store lambs, which met with a free sale. In fact all classes sold well and the sale generally was firmer. Ewes with lauibs 14s 3d to 21s 3d, 2nd. and 4tli. owes AOs to 335, others to 25s 6d, s.ni. owes to 25s 9d, best rape lambs 21s to 225»7d, others 19s 6d to 20s 56d, best wethers 21s lOd to 23s 6d. Store cattle—A small yarding and with exception of odd pens the yarding comprised mostly cows and nondescript lots met with a good sale. Forward steers to £ll 15s, 2 and 3-yr. old ditto £7 to £8 7s, yearling heifers 35s to £3. best cows £3 5s to £5. others to 30s.

Pat pigs—A very heavy yarding and demand weak for all classes, particulair lv baconers and choppers. A nines were: Choppers C 3 to £4 os, light baconers £3 7s to £3 15s, heavy £4 to t l Ss, extra to £1 ss, average per Ib. Od to 6:Jd. Light porkers 40s to 525, heavy 55s to (Us. average per lb. 7ld to Bd. Store nigs—A large market with a dragging sale throughout. AA’eanors 13s to 19s, better sorts 20s to 235, small stores 24s to 30s. medium 31s to 365. large to 455. Beef A medium entry of 475 head

and comprised to a great extent of cows. The market opened easier than last week and continued so throughout. Best prime medium steers and good young cows and heifers showed little difference, but other classes were from 15s to 20s easier. Prime steers £l3 Ins t 0 £lO. extra to £lB 2s fid; medium £ll 10s to £l3 10s. others to £9: prime heifers £8 10s to £lO 15s. extra to £l3 2s Od : medium. £6 10s to £8 ss. others to £5 ss; prime cows £0 15s to £9 10s. extra to £l2 6s: medium £5 10s to £6 10s. others to £4 ss. Mutton —A similar yarding to last

week, and larger proportion of ewes. Several outstanding lines of wethers, including one exceptional lot from south. which must have averaged about 325. The market was Is firmer all round. but cased somewhat towards the finish. Prime wethers 2.8 s 6d to 32s lOd. tone special show lot making over 365; medium 26s to 28s. others to 24s 6d : prime ewes 20s to 23s fid. extra to 26s fid: medium 16s 6d to 19s 6d. others to 13s.
