[Australian A N.Z. Cable Association.^ HEAT WAVE. SYDNEY. January 12. There is a heat wave being experienced in the southern portion ol Australia. .Many elderly people are unable to stand the strain. Seven deaths have occurred in Adelaide, and a man and a woman have died in Melbourne. Hundreds ol people slept out oil the Victorian beaches last night to escape the stilling indoor air. Tho patients in the hospitals were severe sufferers. The ambulances and hospitals are kept busy owing to people collapsing from the heat.
